It is time to begin planning your beach wardrobe for the summer. Whether you will be going on a beach date, beach vacation, or simply lazing by the water all day long, I have compiled a comprehensive list of stylish and cute outfits and designer beachwear that you can wear to any occasion at the beach.
Beach outfits on the dressy side are ideal for beach events such as a concert or beach dates. Casual beach outfits can be worn on days that you would like to go to the beach but admire the water from afar instead of getting in it. There there are beach outfits comprised of a cute summer bikini and perhaps a cover-up to go along with it.
Use these ideas for beach outfits to inspire you, and as a starting point for putting your own amazing outfits together.
1. Dressy Beach Style
It is the details of this style that make it dressier than a lot of beach outfits. A long-sleeved white blouse is lightweight, however, lacy sleeves really give a wow factor and stand out. Combine it with a summer fedora, matching wedged sandals, and tropical-inspired, colourful shorts, for the ideal outfit for a concert, a date, shopping, or brunch.
2. Boho Beach Style
Nothing is better than a bikini when you are out in the sun. The classic cut is a two-piece but if you add an embroidered and stitching pattern then it is transformed into boho style. Add a flowy and flowery beach cover-up along with a wide-brimmed hat and you’ll be all set for sunning at the beach all day.
3. Cute Summer Bikini
If you want to spend all day in the sand, then the perfect combination is denim shorts and a tie-dye bikini. Add a sun hat and matching bracelets, and you are ready for plenty of fun in the sun.
4. Printed Maxi Dress
The ideal beach outfit is a maxi dress. You can use one as your beach cover-up or dress it up with heels. The Donna Morgan maxi dress is ideal for this style, it has a classic style and beachy vibe and features a stark white top and accordion pleating. Think about trying out a stripes, tie-dye, floral, or ikat print.
5. Maxi Swim Cover-Up
If you choose to go with a full-length cover up, then select one that has lacy see-through material to keep you nice and cool. A word of caution: this kind of material doesn’t protect you from the sun, so make sure to keep applying sunscreen all day long.
6. Have Fun With Crochet and/or Words
Would you like to stand out from the crowd? Wear a tee or tank that has a saying on it (people love trying to read them). Combine it with sandals, a lightweight cropped jacket, and crocheted shorts, and head out to the farmer’s market, a picnic on the beach, or shopping on the promenade.
7. Unique Romper
Over the past few years, rompers have surged in popularity. It is something that is quite easy to wear, particularly over your swimming suit. One type of romper that is quite distinct and that you don’t see very often is a crocheted romper. Try wearing one with a unique back or cutout, one made out of a fun material and wear a colourful belt with it.
8. Add Some Bright Neon to Your Outfit
Neon is a very stylish and fun addition to any beach outfit. Although not everyone can pull it off, if possible, rock the neon.
9. Fun Workout Clothing
Are you headed out to muscle beach? Taking a bike ride along the coast? Jogging on the shore? Put on some colorful and fun workout clothing. I am made instantly happy by a colourful tank, sports bra and leggings. It is amazing your colour can put you in a much better mood and brighten your day!
10. Add Splashes of Colour
The beach is the ideal place to wear colourful clothes. You don’t need everything to be colourful, however. Add a few splashes, here and there, such as wearing orange sandals, or bright-coloured stitching on a white cover. You can also wear brightly coloured jewellery or a hat.
